Fishers of Men

And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”- Mark 1:17
You need to underline, bold, CAPITALIZE, circle, and italicize BECOME.
Since I've left UCLA, I met a lot of my brothers and sisters at church. Some of them are far along in their faith and encourage me to grow more. And some of my church members look us "strong believers" and get discouraged.
We don't want to discourage them! When we ask them why they say something like, "Oh, you guys are so strong in your faith and I feel like I'm far behind."
Even though we encourage them that they'll get there, they still feel that same discouragement. One woman was so discouraged that she felt as if she didn't belong in our small group. But that wasn't true at all! I was sad for her.
You see, God is never done with us. NEVER. What we are now and what we lack in Christ, he will give it to us in his own timing. Jesus said that we will BECOME fishers of men if we follow him. Not, "HAY guys! Follow me and take this fishing hook. Now fish for men.."
Therefore, God is more invested with your future than who you are right now. Everything that is happening to you now, may it be trial-some or joyful, are tools that make you into the person God wants you to be.
