Here's another prayer for my Class of 2014. Some of them had their graduation already, some of them are done with finals, and some of them still have finals. Either way, this identity as a UCLA student comes to an end. They will no longer be UCLA students, but UCLA alumni.
Wow, they're so old! It's funny that I'm saying this because I am either the same age as them or older. If you didn't pull me out of UCLA after the Fall, I'd be in the same shoes as they are. I wouldn't know who I am anymore. Like, although I'd have this awesome degree, I'd feel as if I'm losing a lot. I'm technically not part of AACF anymore, therefore I'm leaving behind these friends, these memories, and this safe environment.
I'm forced to leave this God-provided safety net, and walk into the Unknown. That would scare me. That probably scares a lot of them. Who are they outside of this safety net? Make it known to them who they are, according to You.
You paved a path for them. You secured their steps. However, they do not know that. Trust is a scary thing that gets crushed a lot. It is because we trust the tangible, not the intangible. It is easier to pave our own insecure steps because it seems familiar to us. It is harder to trust in the unfamiliar, even if it is exponentially more secure.
Let them walk in faith but not sight. Let them hope in the unseen glory that you have for those you love. May they glorify you by resting in You. You break their fall and you shield them from any destruction they cannot handle. Yet if these trials attack them, let them know that you allowed it. They are strong enough to fight these trials.
They are Yours and You are theirs. Let no one mistake their identity in anything and anyone else besides you. No income, job promotion, or even future love interests can take away their identity in You. If they are your children, let your love pour out to them. Let it flow like streams of water. Let the water quench their thirsts and have their cups overflow. As a result, their hearts cannot help but share this love with everyone they encounter.
There's so much to pray about God. This is only the tip of the iceberg of prayers that I have for them. Continue pouring out your love to me so I can pour your love into them.
In Your Name I Pray,
Amen
